Mohali MC floats 8.5cr development work tenders

CHANDIGARH: The municipal corporation (MC) has floated tenders for Rs 8.5 crore of development work.

The tenders can be filed online. The last date for filing was October 26 and would be opened on February 20.

The works include laying of premix, paver blocks, building green belts, maintaining street lights and roads and improvement in storm water drainage.

Mayor Kulwant Singh has asked all councillors to give him a list of issues of their wards before the house meeting but only half of them did so.

No development work related tender was floated for sectors 66 to 69 and sectors 76 to 80 as these fall under the jurisdiction of Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA).

Councillors and the mayor held a meeting with GMADA officials last week requesting them to hand over the sectors to the civic body so that residents did not face any hassles.

Kulwant Singh said, “We want to finish works like storm water drainage, boosting water, and paver blocks before the next monsoon. We have other bigger matters to solve.”
